Lisa Benvenuto first led the Knights as the head coach of the women's soccer program in the fall of 2004 however, Benvenuto started her coaching career at Neumann College as an assistant coach in the fall of 2003. In her first year at the helm of the Knights program Benvenuto led the team to a 4-10-2 season and an 8th place finish in the PAC. Under her guidance and expertise three Neumann Knights were named to the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference All-PAC Team following the 2004 season. In her second year with the Knights Coach Benvenuto led the the team to a 6-8-2 record. Three Knights earned all-conference nods while 14 others were awarded All-PAC academic honors. Coach Benvenuto is a 2001 graduate of Saint Joseph's University in Philadelphia Pennsylvania, with a degree in Education. As four-year letterman at striker for the Hawks and captain elect, in her junior and senior year, Coach Benvenuto received many accolades during her collegiate career including; Most Valuable Player, leading scorer '98 and '99. She currently holds the Atlantic 10 and school record for the most goals in a game. Benvenuto attended Weston High School in Weston Connecticut; she lettered for four years while leading the Lady Trojans to a state title championship in 1995 and received Connecticut State MVP honors in 1997. Benvenuto is the second highest scorer in school history and was All-State in her sophomore, junior and senior years. Coach Benvenuto resides in the Manayunk section of Philadelphia and is a learning support teacher at Upper Moreland Middle School in Hatboro, Pennsylvania. |
