Aston, Pa. - Krista DiRomualdo of the Neumann Knights women's basketball team, was named the 2007-2008 PAC Rookie of the Year today, marking the third such honor for the Knights in last four years. Among all players in the PAC, DiRomualdo ranks tenth in scoring averaging 12.6 points per game in 21 games for a total of 265 points. Krista also is 15th in the league in assists with a 2.16 average per game, behind teammate Ashely Pearsall who is tenth overall. The Eddystone, PA native leads her team in 3-pt percentage and is behind Brittany Whetts in team scoring. DiRomualdo also was selected for the All-PAC second team. Brittany Whetts (Philadelphia, PA/Bartram,) last year's PAC Rookie of the Year was also selected to the second team. For the men's team, Derahn Patrick was selected to the All-PAC second team and DJ Fritz (Waldorf, Md./Bishop MacNamara was selected as an honorable mention. Patrick and Fritz lead the Knights in scoring with 16.8 and 11.7 points per game, respectively. Fritz and Patrick also lead the team in free throw percentage and are both in the top five for steals.
